Time at home

Mac and the dog are both very "helpful" putting up the tree. (No pictures of the completed tree now - they'll come soon, I promise.)

Miles is showing signs of being his parents' son. The organization of Rachel and the beer loving of Ben.

But Mac's real favorite thing to do lately is drawing. It's a good thing those markers are washable!

At home and at Devil's Lake

The boys having fun on a Saturday.
Miles' first time on a boat - a ferry on the way to beautiful Devil's Lake State Park.
Miles got pretty worn out after the long walk up above the lake.

A couple of mishaps

It's a very cute hat, but also notice the shiner.
And a different accident, with a split eyebrow.

Miles loves eggplant stew

Notice the hair being spiked up by extra stew.
At least he loves baths, too.

First hair cut and more

Linda, who starting cutting my hair when I was about six, was very patient with Miles.

He wasn't so sure about the whole thing, but holding the clips helped.
Lyle got a new bed for his new home. He seems to like it.
Aida came to visit. Miles fell in love with her all over again. He does not fall asleep in the arms of many people.

Miscellaneous Miles

Lyle is a useful means to an end.
Mac LOVES his floppy hat.

Our birthday boy!

More pictures to come later (opening presents, etc.). But here was the highlight of the day for Miles. He got to eat a whole piece of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. He didn't seem to have any trouble with it!

The new digs

It's official. We're moving. To Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. These are pictures of our new apartment-to-be. You might be able to tell that it's in a converted church. It's super bright, has really nice space, and we think we're going to love it. You're all invited!

You want pictures of the baby?

Here are pictures of the baby!

Oh, and Mom got a fantastic new camera lens. I got her cast off, and I'm super happy with it.

The La Jolla pad

It's a long story how we came to be house-sitting at this beautiful house for the last week of our trip. Boy, was it fantastic. Here's the backyard, with pool (the hot tub is out of the picture, on the right) and the solar panels on the roof to heat the water.
The dogs we were watching, Mex and Ico.
Check out that pruny foot! He loves the water.
And it wears him out!
One more shot of the pool.

Little Maisie

One of the star attractions of the trip. Our three month old niece, Maisie. Watch this space for many more family pictures, once I get photos from Jessica and Lauren (both took lots of photos of cousins together).

Family Photos

Great-Grandma and Grandpa Kennedy, with all five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Sleeping on Grammie Sue's shoulder.
Wonderful dinner on the deck with Great-Grandma and Grandpa Phinney.
GG and Miles.
Mac figured out how to climb the stairs. It was much more interesting to do with cousin Rhett at the top. Now to figure out how to get down the stairs . . .
