By popular demand

So many pictures of Miles, but none of him with his Grandma. Here they are.

Just love this picture . . .

Can you believe that face?

Highlandville dance

Rachel has been going to dances in the Highlandville schoolhouse since she was a little girl. Waltzes, polkas, schottishes, two steps. This may be the last for a while, since Jim, in the middle here, just married his Norwegian girlfriend. He'll be moving to Oslo next month.
This baby is able to sleep through most anything. He even danced a couple of dances with his parents.

A stop on the way home

Have you ever seen a lovlier place to have a change of diapers?

Father and son

Miles isn't going to fit this way for very much longer. He's already gained almost four pounds, and doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon.

Weekend in Madison

We went to Madison for a couple of days last week. Here's Jeff and Annika playing in the backyard.
Rachel and Miles, Gretchen and Finn, and Sonja and Annika.

Chris and Finn, dressed alike. At least until Finn took his pants off.

The first onsie that Miles has outgrown. Too bad, because it is one of the cutest.
Trying out the Bumbo again.

This is from a couple of weeks ago. (It's hard to keep track of pictures on two separate cameras.) Very cute hand-me-down sweatshirt from Ellen & Alan's next door neighbors. Love the teddy bear ears.

Another new technology Miles isn't sure he likes. He's holding his head up enough now to use the Baby Bjorn, but we'll have to get Miles more used to it before we go on long walks. Dig those eyebrows, though! They were visible even in ultrasounds at 18 weeks gestation -- honest.

Grandma took a picture of Mama taking a picture of Miles in his Bumbo. The bad news is that he doesn't really seem to like the Bumbo. The more he's in it, though, the longer he sits and looks around. We're hoping he'll learn to love it.

Miles after rolls onto his back. He was having some tummy time when he pushed his head up and landed on his shoulder. He started wiggling his legs around and then rolled completely over on to his back. We took some pictures and laughed about it, then put him back on his tummy. He rolled over again. And again and again and again. Five times in a row! According to the baby book, he wouldn't be expected to roll over until sometime in his fourth month. We expect he'll be an Olympian, with physical abilities like this.

Just love this picture. This is the position that Miles most often sleeps in. Hands up or out or both.

Hi, hi

Ok, so excuses are no good. But, with a combination of being super busy and stressed out before we left New York, having frustrating technical problems with blogger, moving half way across the country, Rachel developing pre-eclampsia and being on bed rest for three weeks, and then having a new infant, we've hardly taken any pictures, let alone done any blogging. We've got a baby that lots of people want to see, so here we are, with a brand new blog. All of the pictures posted yesterday (the 11th) except those taken in New York are Ellen's, so you can thank her for the fabulous shots. Starting now, we'll start to post our own photos, although we'll almost certainly continue to poach some from Ellen, too. Enjoy!
