Putting a garden in
Ben and I spent a few hours this afternoon putting seeds and seedlings in a garden in the back. Our angel child spent most of the time playing by himself on a picnic blanket.
Or hanging out with the dog in the yard.

weekend wedding
We went to our friend Patrick's wedding in Minneapolis last weekend. 
We didn't get much of a chance to meet Stephanie, but she seems lovely. We hope to get to know her better this summer.

new duds
Thanks to cousin Rhett for the fantastic new clothes from his first summer. This cutie patootie onesie is Miles' first chance to wear some of them. And thanks to the weather for being in the 70s today, and maybe the 80s tomorrow!
an al fresco dinner
We ate outside on the deck the other day for the first time. Miles seemed to think that was all right. You can see him eating his bananas and carrots here.
Cassie's transformation
She still spends a lot of time sleeping around the house (she IS a cat), but Cassie is now outside for several hours a day, and has already begun to lose her winter weight.
Springtime outing
We went for a walk in the woods a couple of weeks ago, to look at a friend's maple syrup operation. It was a beautiful early spring day.

Isn't Iowa great?
Our friends Bill and Otter, who were one of the six couples that were part of the law suit to legalize gay marriage in Iowa. They'll be married sometime after April 24, when the law takes effect.
